Water Protection Circus Performance

Please join us for a very special circus performance by students from Milagro Middle School inspired by GOING WITH THE FLOW. This performance represents the culmination of an in-school arts-education program offered through a partnership between SITE SANTA FE, Wise Fool, and Santa Fe Community Educators Network.

About Wise Fool

It is Wise Fool New Mexico’s mission to ignite imagination, build community, and promote social justice through performances and hands-on experiences in the arts of circus, puppetry, and theatre.

Wise Fool is a beloved and award-winning non-profit organization at the center of Santa Fe’s community arts scene. Wise Fool serves 2,000 youth and adults with hands-on activities and 14,000 audience members annually with high-quality experiences built upon our core values of community, arts accessibility, and social justice.

As a pioneer in the emerging North American social circus movement and the only contemporary circus arts company in New Mexico, Wise Fool is further evolving circus as an art form by developing quality productions, professional artists, and expert teachers for circus-based arts curriculums. Encouraging audiences to jump the bounds of possibility and recognize that we are all capable of the extraordinary, we offer first-hand explorations and skill-building experiences in which participants discover and develop their own connection to the arts.

About Santa Fe Community Educators Network

The Santa Fe Community Educators Network (SFCEN) is a collaborative working group, part of the Opportunity Santa Fe: Birth to Career Initiative. We are a collection of educators from over forty different organizations throughout Santa Fe and the surrounding areas who believe in the power of collaboration to enhance experiential education in our community.

Collectively we promote hands-on, project based learning in the community through engaging programming in a variety of settings. Our offerings includes in- class, out of school time and family programming as well as teacher support and curriculum development. Additionally, we provide opportunities for networking, professional development as well as for shared growth and learning among informal educators in nonprofit organizations. It is our belief that we have the potential to make a greater impact in enriching tour community together than any one of organizations has alone. We hope you will join us in utilizing diverse and engaging experiential education to create a city where schools, families, and students can thrive!

As a part of maintaining shared measures through which we can track the progress of our work, the SFCEN is committed to consistent evaluation of our programs. The majority of our evaluations are conducted by an outside evaluations, Claremont PhD Student Kathleen Doll. Kathleen has constructed evaluation tools that can be utilized across the scope of our programs to assess participant engagement, personal and academic growth as well as SEL (Social Emotional Learning). We believe in performing assessments collectively verses relying on evaluations performed by participating organizations to ensure that we are tracking the impact of our collective work.
