Vicente Todolí in conversation with Taylor Walsh on Bruce Nauman

In celebration of the opening of Bruce Nauman: His Mark, Editorial Director of Greene Naftali Gallery, New York, Taylor Walsh leads Vicente Todolí, Artistic Director Pirelli HangarBicocca in a discussion of Nauman’s work.

About the Presenters

Vicente Todolì

Vicente Todolì (Valencia, Spain 1958) is the Artistic Director of Pirelli HangarBicocca since 2012. From 1988 to 1996 he was the Artistic Director at IVAM (Istituto Valenciano de Arte Moderno). From 1996 to 2003 he directed the Serralves Museum in Porto. In 2003 he was appointed Director of the Tate Modern in London, role he kept until 2010. During his career Vicente Todolí was part of the curatorial team at the Venice Biennale of 1997 (Directed by Germano Celant) and he curated several exhibitions, including solo shows dedicated to Miroslaw Balka, Fischli & Weiss, Lucio Fontana, Robert Frank, Hamish Fulton, João Maria Gusmão & Pedro Paiva, Richard Hamilton, Gary Hill, Carsten Höller, Roni Horn, James Lee Byars, Cildo Meireles, Mario Merz, Juan Muñoz, Damián Ortega, Sigmar Polke, Dieter and Björn Roth, Kishio Suga, Franz West and many others.

Todolì was part of many Advisory Board and Committees like: Centro Reina Sofia (Madrid), ICA di Amsterdam, Carnegie International (Pittsburgh), Manifesta International Art Foundation (Rotterdam) and Serralves Museum (Porto). Currently he is President of the Centro Botín Advisory Board (Santander) and the Art Advisor for Inelcom Collection (Madrid).

Taylor Walsh

Taylor Walsh holds a PhD in the history of art from Harvard University, and is editorial director at Greene Naftali Gallery, New York. She was a co-organizer of the retrospective Bruce Nauman: Disappearing Acts at Schaulager, Basel and the Museum of Modern Art, New York (2018-19) and is the editor of October Files: Bruce Nauman (MIT Press, 2018).
