Spaceship Earth Screening and Virtual Q&A

SITE Santa Fe is pleased to partner with NEON to screen Spaceship Earth, a stranger than fiction documentary chronicling the adventure of eight visionaries who spent two years quarantined in a self-engineered replica of Earth's ecosystem called Biosphere 2. Don't miss this film as it stars many friends from the remarkable Synergia Ranch, located in Santa Fe!

Starting Fri, May 8, stream the film here and 50% of proceeds to benefit SITE Santa Fe.

Save the date: Fri, May 15, 2 pm MDT: Zoom Q&A with two Synergists including one who lived in Biosphere 2! Join Irene Hofmann in conversation with Kathelin Gray and Mark Nelson. This event is free but space is limited. Please reserve your spot by emailing: franco@sitesantafe.org.

Dr. Mark Nelson is Chairman of the Institute of Ecotechnics, head of Wastewater Gardens International and has worked for several decades in closed ecological system research, bioregenerative space life support, ecological engineering, restoration of damaged ecosystems, desert agriculture and wastewater recycling. Dr. Nelson was a member of the eight person “biospherian” crew for the first two year Biosphere 2 closure experiment, 1991-1993. In the 1970s, he planted an organic fruit orchard at Synergia Ranch, Santa Fe NM and has helped manage its organic fruit and vegetable farm for decades.

Kathelin Gray is a director, producer, curator, and writer. She has co-founded projects which integrate art, ecology, science and culture. These include the Research Vessel Heraclitus, Biosphere 2 closed ecological system experiment, Institute of Ecotechnics and October Gallery, London. She is also Managing Director of Ecotechnics Maritime Ltd., and consults to William Burroughs Communications.
