For more than 50 years, saxophonist Charles McPherson has been one of the most expressive and highly regarded voices in jazz, and he remains a viable force on the jazz scene today. Rooted in the blues and bebop, he has influenced and inspired generations of musicians and listeners and has performed and/or recorded with everyone from Charles Mingus, Pepper Adams, and Nat Adderley to Toshiko Akiyoshi, Randy Brecker, Wynton Marsalis and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra, and many others. Accompanying Mr. McPherson are Jeb Patton, piano; and Dave Wong, bass; and Chuck McPherson, drums.
This performance is made possible, in part, by funding from the National Endowment for the Arts through a grant from the Western Jazz Presenters Network (WJPN)
