My Life in Art

My Life in Art is an annual series of lectures that focuses on significant artists, collectors, patrons, dealers, critics, or other art world luminaries.

Lucy R. Lippard is a writer, activist, sometime curator, and author of 24 books on contemporary art and cultural criticism, including The Lure of the Local: Senses of Place in a Multicentered Society (1997), Down Country: The Tano of the Galisteo Basin, 1250-1782 (2010), and most recently Undermining: A Wild Ride through Land Use, Politics, and Art in the Changing West (2014). A prolific award winner, she has co-founded various artists’ organizations and publications. She lives off the grid in rural Galisteo, New Mexico, where for 22 years she has edited the monthly community newsletter El Puente de Galisteo.

Carmella Padilla is a journalist, author, and editor who frequently explores intersections in art, culture, and history.

This ‘My Life in Art’ Public Program is the second, in a series of three. The first included Carl Thoma with Margo Thoma and the next program features Harmony Hammond with Holland Cotter August 24.
