LAST CALL for SITE 20 Years/20 Shows, Spring 2016 and workSHoP!
SITE’s current exhibitions come down on May 22 to make way for our Biennial this summer, and we’re having a party to celebrate them. Come see these two extraordinary shows while you still can!
This party is open to everyone, but if you join SITE with a Membership during the party, we have a special gift for you and you can mix it up in the Members Lounge with refreshments.
SITE 20 Years /20 Shows, Spring 2016 is the final installment of SITE’s 20th Anniversary exhibition series. This spring we complete the series with three unique exhibitions. Terry Allen will present a new immersive narrative video and sound installation. Luis Camnitzer presents two works, separated by forty years in the artist’s career, where disorientation plays a central roll in the viewer experience. Wangechi Mutu will collaborate with artist Edgar Arceneaux on a site-specific drawing installation. The artists will be in residence at SITE in early March as they create this collaborative work directly on the gallery walls. In addition, Mutu will present The End of Eating Everything, 2013 the artist’s first animated short that is a mesmerizing commentary on mass consumption in contemporary life.
workSHoP explores the work of New York-based architecture and design firm SHoP Architects. In addition to presenting building models, renderings, and animated visuals of past and current projects, workSHoP will also feature large-scale plans, material studies, and a Virtual Reality experience that will give viewers an immersive preview of SHoP’s design for SITE Santa Fe’s building expansion!
