Graft Design, an international design firm based in Los Angeles, seeks to redefine not only how things look, but also how they are conceived. Their commissions range from Brad Pitt's Hollywood house to the hottest restaurants in Los Angeles to international art exhibitions, including SITE Santa Fe's Fourth International Biennial. Elements from the natural world, such as wood and stone, are combined with a sleek sensibility to create a serene environment that keeps the spaces from becoming industrial or alienating.

A head designer at Graft, Wolfram Putz has received degrees in his native Germany and in California. He has served as a visiting critic in Germany and California. His exhibitions include Constructa Preis (1995) in Hannover, Germany, and Terrain Vague (1996) in Barcelona, Spain. Among other awards Putz has been the recipient of a Fulbright Scholarship and a G.F.W. Laves Award and Travel Scholarship.

Wolfram Putz and the other principals in Graft Design -- Chistoph Korner, Gregor Hoheisel, and Lars Kruckeberg -- are participating artists in SITE Santa Fe's Fourth International Biennial, Beau Monde: Toward a Redeemed Cosmopolitanism.
