How do artists engage difficult subjects to foster understanding, empathy, and action? Presented in partnership with Art21, this workshop centers on the exhibit, Displaced: Contemporary Artists Confront the Global Refugee Crisis. Through works created in a range of media, the exhibition poses critical questions around this global crisis, and illuminates the complexities surrounding the urgent social, political, and environmental issues that frame the circumstances of displacement. Participants will learn how artists approach these events and gain resources that can be applied to their teaching.
