Alex Murzyn Plays “Coltrane’s Sound”: A Tribute to the Great Tenor Saxophone Legend

The most in demand tenor saxaphone player in Northern New Mexico, Alex Murzyn pays tribute to John Coltrane accompanied by Bob Fox on piano, Terry Burns on bass, and John Trentacosta on the drums. Through selected compositions from across Coltrane’s illustrious career, the concert will highlight the kind of innovative and ground-breaking sound that has made Coltrane such a profound influence in the jazz community for more than half a century.

Alex Murzyn has spent thirty years playing with the likes of The Stan Kenton Legacy Band, The Dizzy Gillespie Big Band, Bobby Hutcherson, Arturo Sandoval, Freddie Hubbard and Stanley Clarke. He moved to Santa Fe in 2017 from the San Francisco Bay Area.
