Tracey Moffatt

In a metaphysical setting amid the Australian desert a silent, anthropological drama is performed. In a Beckett-like situation, two women examine their own destiny, waiting for the final act of liberation. Moffatt's work in film analyzes the burden of isolated realities and distorted relationships. The pair of women stand as representatives of an anonymous multitude in search of its own history, which exists only within the depths of the land that hosts them. While these two people collapse under the weight of sickness and extreme affection for each other, light plays the role of the angel of salvation, lifting everything around and above the shadow of existence.
