Art as a discussion of comfort levels appears to be Rehberger's tack in designing the space and objects of his installation. Thinking of architecture more as an excuse to redefine conviviality than an aesthetic statement, the artist approaches the viewer as counselor and a companion throughout the process of creation and during the exhibition. The completed seats-spread throughout the site-maintain an active role with the audience each time they're encountered. These elements, neither simple decorations nor pure sculptural presences, create a field of action within the exhibition, here entering into contradiction as a temporary point of reference, there blending in with the permanent surrounding structure.
