"The phenomenology of the intangible" is perhaps the best definition of Suchan Kinoshita's work. The world could disappear under a mantle of dust, leaving its cast in negative, the essence of its presence. Her sculptural events are whispers in space, soft substances that negotiate their positions within the surrounding reality. The entire process is concentrated upon the ideals of a universe in which all the elements might leave their marks, records of their presence so as to make the weight of memories tangible, all equally relevant with no distinctions or hierarchies. The happening of things as an elegy defies destruction.
