In a kind of Duchampian autopsy of their own culture, these two photographers allow the audience to observe a metamorphosis of context within a pure and classical object of simple representation. Their paradoxical and contradictory way of grouping subjects allows for no melancholic statements over past and present circumstances. As observers we see a language deleting or transforming—in slow motion—all the meaning and use of its former vocabulary.
