Laurie Simmons is best known for her photographed collages of domestic spaces. The elements in her elaborate rooms include dolls, figures cut out from magazines, sex manuals, cartoons, fabric swatches, and her own original drawings. An odd mixture of style, scale, and media, these works are both provocative and disturbing, artificial with a disquieting sense of realism.
