SITE is closed for our renovation and expansion and plans to open in Fall of 2017.
Born in Taiwan and currently living in New York City, Lee Mingwei creates participatory installations where visitors can explore issues of trust, intimacy, and self-awareness. Lee’s projects are often open-ended scenarios for everyday interactions that have included eating, conversing, and walking with visitors. This artist talk takes place at SITE the evening after the artist’s three-night performance of The Dining Project, an interactive work during which Lee shares a meal one-on-one with three lucky SITE visitors in SITE’s galleries after hours. To find out how you can enter your name into the lottery to dine with Lee, call us at 505-989-1199.
With an MFA from Yale University (1997), Lee has had solo exhibitions internationally including at the Whitney Museum of American Art, Museum of Modern Art, Taipei Museum of Contemporary Art, Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, and Los Angeles County Museum of Art. His work has been featured in numerous biennials around the world.
