Digest this: Celebrating Family Cooking & Some Like it Hot: The History and Hospitality of New Mexico Chile

Mar 18, 2014 At SITE Santa Fe

Lynn Walters is the Founder and Executive Director of Cooking with Kids, a nationally recognized Santa Fe non-profit. Every year, over 5,000 public school children cook healthy foods together in their classrooms, learning about the delicious flavors of foods from around the world. Lynn will share stories and photographs from her years of cooking with children and families.

Then, we’ll hear from Santa Fe native Carmella Padilla, author of many books and articles exploring intersections in art, culture and history in New Mexico and beyond including The Chile Chronicles. She will present the history and hospitality of New Mexico chile.

A green chile stew taste-test will accompany the presentations thanks to Atrisco Cafe & Bar, Second Street Brewery, Tune-Up Cafe, and La Choza.
