Art Talk: What’s Old is New with Cori Ellison

Jun 18, 2019 At SITE SANTA FE

$10 general admission/ $5 members, students

The artists showcased in SITE Santa Fe’s Bel Canto: Contemporary Artists Explore Opera were inspired by classic music dramas composed between 1791 and 1953 and based on medieval legend, fairy tale, 18th-c. history and 19th-c. melodrama. Cori Ellison, Santa Fe Opera’s company dramaturg, explores why we still tell these stories in 2019.

Cori Ellison is staff dramaturg at Santa Fe Opera and has previously served in that role at Glyndebourne Festival Opera and New York City Opera.  She teaches dramaturgy for American Lyric Theater’s Composer Librettist Development Program, History of Singing at The Juilliard School’s Vocal Arts Institute, and is a faculty member at the Ravinia Steans Music Institute.

Doors open at 5:30 PM.
