SITE would like to issue a congratulations to our 2012-2013 SITE Scholar K.B. Jones as she was announced one of this year’s recipients of the International Travel Creative Research Awards by the Land of the American West program.
K.B. Jones, UNM graduate student in Painting and Drawing, has been awarded $4,000 to support her work with Australia National University Canberra, AU.
Ms. Jones states:
“I will be traveling to Australia this summer to continue my research on concepts of environment and selfhood, attempting to reconcile minimalism with the human figure. As a visiting artist at the Australian National University in Canberra, I will carry on the partnership between the Land Arts of the American West program at The University of New Mexico and the Crace Field Studies program at ANU. In addition, I’ll participate in a one-week residency at Calperum National Trust, a trip along the Southern Coast, and a lithography project with Adrian Kellett of the Victorian College of Arts in Melbourne, Australia.”
Congrats K.B.!
