Sabrina Griffith has been working as a preparator since 2008 in various areas of the field, working freelance for Georgia O'Keeffe Museum, SITE SANTA FE, Center for Contemporary Art, Center Santa Fe, local artists, collectors, and enthusiasts. They are honored to work as the Associate Registrar and Lighting Designer here at SITE SANTA FE and have enjoyed being a part of the preparator team here since 2015. Coming from a background of installation sculpture, drawing, dance, theater, film and puppetry they have found that this is a career that allows for the creative use of many of the skills in materials and collaboration that they have gathered. They are excited to share these ideas with you this evening.

Kevin Freitas has worked in the arts for over 25 years in various capacities such as Lead Preparator, Conservator, Gallery Director, and Arts Writer. Currently he is the Lead Preparator for SITE SANTA FE. The overall desire to be close to an artwork, literally hands-on, and helping to fulfill an artist's vision during the installation process is what excites and motivates Freitas in his work. One of his most cherished opportunities was to oversee the installation of over 850 works of art from the Louvre's Dutch and Flemish collection. While being a preparator is a sometimes stressful job, the opportunity to handle, install, and care for an artist's work, bringing it to life under a curator's direction, and sharing it with the broader public is a joy and passion Freitas will never grow tired of.
